Just when the Camosun Chargers thought a 34 point lead was safe, the Quest Kemodes had other ideas and made the quarterfinal a memorable one. However the lead was just too much and the Chargers punched their ticket to the semis with an 88-77 victory.
The Chargers admittedly took their foot off the gas and allowed the Kermodes back in the game, but were lucky enough to hold on behind 27 points from player of the game Kathryn Candell.
The only thing that saved the Chargers was the free throw shooting of Tessa Lannon-Paakspuu who finished 13-14 from the line, nine of which in the fourth quarter while the Kermodes were making their run.
The Kermodes scored 31 points in the fourth quarter led by Jordin Wilkinson and her 25 points.
The Chargers now face the #1 Capilano Blues in Friday’s semi-final at 6:00pm.
