The tournament hotel for the 2015-16 PACWEST Basketball Provincial Championships is the North Vancouver Hotel:
DIRECTIONS
FACILITY
The North Vancouver campus of Capilano University is the site of one of the finest University sports complexes in BC. The facility features a large, showcase gymnasium with a hardwood-playing surface. Seating is provided by individually molded studio seats, complete with backs and armrests, mounted on retractable platforms. The seating capacity accommodates approximately 1600 spectators.
We will be utilizing the Sportsplex Gymnasium for all games on Thursday, Friday and Medal Games on Saturday.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Coaches Conference Call
The Coaches Conference Call will take place on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 7:00pm. All teams are required to have a representative present on the call. The number to call and the agenda will be circulated one week prior to the conference call (on February 22, 2016).
Athletic Therapy
A therapy area will be on site for the duration of the Championships. Athletes will be required to provide their own tape and pro wrap. The “AT Tent” will be located at the north east corner of the gym. Emergency protocol instructions will be provided to each Coach by the Chris Raeside, Athletic Event Facilitator.
Changeroom & Team Room Assignments
Change rooms will be allocated each day. Signs will be placed on each change room door. It is recommended that all players bring their bags out to the gymnasium with them as other teams will be using these change rooms throughout the day.
Uniforms
The higher seeded team will be designated as the HOME team and will wear light colored uniforms. All teams must bring a light and dark set of uniforms to the championships. Uniform colors will be confirmed at the coaches meeting.
Major & Minor Officials
Game officials will be provided according to PACWEST guidelines.
Statistics
Cybersports will be used for all games during the tournament. Participating teams will receive statistics at half time and at the end of each match. Box scores will be posted in the main concourse after each game.
Game Film
All games will be recorded by the athletic department staff. Participating teams will each receive a digital copy of after their game(s). Coaches MUST supply their own USB stick if they wish to receive game film.
Grievance/Protest Committee
As per the PACWEST policy, the head official, PACWEST Convenor (or designate) and an Executive member will comprise this committee. A copy of the Grievance/Protest procedures will be provided at the Coaches’ Meeting.
HOSPITALITY
Coaches & Officials Lounge
The Coaches & Officials lounge will be located in the Sportsplex. The lounge will be open from 12:30pm to 9:00pm each day. Refreshments will be provided for Athletic Directors, Coaches and Officials. Light refreshments available throughout the day, however, some hot items available around 5pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Concession
A concession will be available throughout the tournament. Our campus cafeteria will also be open during business hours on Wednesday and Thursday 8:00am – 8:00pm and on Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm.
Admission Charges
Coaches, Managers and Team Officials will receive VIP passes. All others are expected to pay. Athletes participating in the tournament granted free admission to all matches. Please ask your athletes to wear your team colors or easier identification at the door.

Website, Webcast & Tournament Results
During the event, daily press releases will be posted on the tournament website as well as on all relevant social media platforms. Results will also be sent to the local media. Live updating of scores through Cybersports will take place for every game www.pacwestbc.ca/2016basketball
All games will be webcast on Sports Canada TV at www.sportscanada.tv. Along with a post-game interview with the winning team Player of the Game and the Head Coach.
